The Helena May, situated in Garden Road, Central, was built in 1916. Its Main Building is a 3-storeys U-shape building in Edwardian Classical Revival style. Dur to the water seepage problem, the 1st stage work was to repair the drainage system on external facades; to repair roof and walls where seepage is found; and to relay waterproofing to affected areas. The 2nd stage work was mainly refurbishment of the facades, for example, re-make the building name “The Helena May” in relief moulding; re-plaster external wall; repair columns’ head and
moulding etc.
